Oak Park Avenue Construction Update
Temporary Oak Park Avenue Closures — Local Access Open
Beginning Wednesday, February 4, 2026, two one-block sections of Oak Park Avenue will be temporarily closed to traffic and street parking while crews install new sewer and water mains.
Local access will remain open on and across Oak Park Avenue between Pleasant Street and Lake Street, including North and South Boulevards, so nearby destinations will still be reachable. Drivers traveling through the area should plan to follow posted detours, with northbound traffic rerouted at Madison Street and southbound traffic at Chicago Avenue. Trucks will be directed to Harlem Avenue, while other vehicles will use Ridgeland Avenue. We appreciate your patience during this necessary infrastructure work!
